About

Hello!
I'm so glad you're here! My name is Sara Morris. I am the person behind Cook Like Grandma. I grew up extremely close to my grandparents. When I say "extremely close," I don't just mean relationship wise, but also geographically. I had the awesome opportunity to spend lots of time with both sets of grandparents throughout my childhood meaning I spent lots of time in their kitchens. Both grandmothers and my mom are all exceptional cooks! I've learned so much from these women!
One of the most important things I learned from them was the impact of food and meals shared together. Food is much more than a requirement to sustain life; it evokes memories and brings people together. I have so many memories of people piled around my Nana's small kitchen table to eat a large family meal before more farm work. After my Nana's funeral in 2017, I was sitting with my grandfather while he napped. I decided to take a look at Nana's cookbooks. I found this woman had a few very full shelves of cookbooks. When I opened the books, I noticed she had notated in so many of them with the words "Good." She left behind a record of those recipes she enjoyed. That's when I decided to start testing out these "good" recipes.
Follow along with me as I make some of Nana's recipes and other family favorites!
