Start with the box of yellow cake mix.
Add in 1/2 cup of orange juice
3/4 cup of milk
and lastly your 2 eggs
Mix together until the batter is combined.
I used a 1 tbsp measure to pour my batter into the mini cupcakes cups. *Be sure to spray the cupcakes tins with nonstick spray.
I put my cupcakes molds on a sheet pan because they were a little flimsy. But bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
After you take them out of the oven. Let the cupcakes cool off for 5 minutes or so before removing from the molds. Immediately make the icing and ice the cupcakes while still warm.
To make the icing, mix together confectioner's sugar....
And the juice of two lemons and two oranges
Dip each cupcake into the icing and let cool before serving.
I used whole wheat flour (to lighten it up a bit), baking soda, baking powder, sugar, one egg, canola oil, milk and unsweetened cocoa powder. Also, mini chocolate chips if you want a little something extra.
Mix together your dry ingredients. Start with 1 1/2 cups of flour.
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup of sugar
1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
1 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tsp of salt
Mix dry ingredients together until combined.
Wet ingredients turn now, beat one egg
Add in 1/3 cup oil.
3/4 cup milk
Mix the wet and dry ingredients together until well combined.
Fill mini muffin tins with batter and top with mini chocolate chips. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes or so before taking out of pan.
For this recipe you will need: sour cream, mayonnaise, refried beans, cheddar, green onions, black olives, tomatoes and taco seasoning (not pictured).
Start by spreading the can of refried beans into a pie plate.
Next, in a separate bowl mix together sour cream and mayonnaise.
Mix in the package of taco seasoning
Spread that delicious mayonnaise, sour cream and taco seasoning mixture over the refried beans. Now's it's time top it!
Top with some tomatoes. I prefer cherry or Roma for this recipe.
A small can of black olives adds some great color.
Lastly, that CHEESE!!! Serve with tortilla chips and you will be the hostess with the most-ess!
'Tis the season for all the Christmas parties and other friends and family togethers. Many of these will be potluck style and it will be requested you sign up to bring a dish. So what do you bring?!
Here are a couple of tips to making sure your dish stands out this holiday season:
Think outside the box:
Are you running low on time or just over cooking yet another holiday party? Fret not! A simple box of brownies can be transformed into a delicious and unexpected dish. Simply replacing the water in the recipe with equal parts orange juice and gently folding in some orange zest at the end will elevate your brownies to the next level!
**Pro-tip: Buy the GOOD brownies (I prefer Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate. YUM!)
Remix an appetizer essential:
A veggie tray is an essential for any gathering, but it doesn't have to be boring! Veggie Bars are a great way to remix the classic. The recipe is simple.
1 package of crescent rolls
1 package of dry ranch dip mix
1 8oz package of softened cream cheese
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Assorted vegetables such as broccoli, tomatoes, cauliflower, bell peppers, carrots
Roll crescent rolls out flat onto a greased baking sheet. Bake rolls for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Take the rolls out of the oven and let cool completely.
Mix together dry ranch dip and softened cream cheese together. Once the rolls are cooled, spread cream cheese mixture on top. Top with your favorite veggies.
*Pro tip: Instead of buying large quantities of vegetables, just grab what you need from the salad bar. It's much cheaper and you won't be force to eat your veggies all week.
Are you still at a loss of what to make this holiday season?
You'll need sugar, cream cheese, one egg, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice (not pictured), vanilla extract, canned pumpkin and 2 cans of crescent rolls.
Start by rolling out the first package of crescents into a greased baking dish.
Cream together one block of cream cheese
1/2 can of pumpkin
and vanilla extract and egg yolk
Spread mixture over the first roll of crescents
Cover cream cheese/ pumpkin mixture with second package of crescents.
Whisk your egg whites until frothy. Then spread on top of the top crescent
Mix together sugar...
...pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon
Spread cinnamon, pumpkin, sugar mixture over egg whites and crescents. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
The ingredients you will need are: flour, sugar, crisco, nutmeg, baking soda, allspice, ground ginger, molasses and salt.
Every good cookie starts off with shortening
Add in your sugar
Cream together shortening and sugar
When measuring molasses I like to spray the cup with nonstick spray. Add in molasses
Add in water
Add in Flour
Next is salt
Now for baking soda
And the ginger
Because I didn't have allspice, I mixed together a little nutmeg, ground cloves and cinnamon. You can always leave it out too. It's only 1/8 tsp.
Mix all ingredients together until combined.
Shape dough into a disk and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
Pick out your favorite cookie cutters! I'm in the Christmas spirit so I went fairly traditional.
Generously flour your surface
Roll out your dough
Once the cookies have cooled, you can decorate with icing or enjoy without! I chose to decorate simply because that's all I know how to do. LOL
You will need: flour, sugar, baking powder, vegetable oil, 2 eggs, salt and milk
Start by separating your eggs
Then beat the yolks well. Save the whites for a little later.
Add in your milk
Now, add in your vegetable oil
Next is flour
& then your baking powder
And now some sugar
Add your salt
Whisk those egg whites until frothy, then you'll gentle fold them in.
When making waffles, you want to be sure you grease your waffle iron VERY well. Ladle in 1/4-2/3 cup of batter. This recipe makes 4 full-size waffles.
This is the amazing product you will receive. I typically fish it out with a fork and a spatula.
Now place that delicious product on a plate, add your butter and syrup and fill up those divots!
You will need sugar, flour, unsweetened coconut, 3 eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, chopped nuts, baking soda, salt and chopped apples.
Start with 1 1/2 cups of vegetable oil
Then add in two cups of sugar
add in 3 eggs
Two teaspoons of vanilla
Three cups of flour
One cup of chopped nuts
One and a half teaspoons of baking soda
One teaspoon of salt
3 cups of chopped apples (about 3 medium apples)
And finally, one cup of unsweetened flaked coconut
Mix it all together. It will take a couple of minutes for it all to combine and you will definitely get a good arm workout! But that is literally the most difficult part of this recipe. So easy!
Put it into a greased bundt pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
This is what it looks like when it comes out! You will be the queen (or king) of the kitchen when you are done! And the smell is DEVINE! You won't need to waste your fall candles when you make this!
You will need sugar, butter, flour, 3 eggs, cold water and 2 lemons (mine were pretty small so I used 3 lemons) and one pie crust.
Start by spreading your pie crust across your pie plate.
Pour 1 1/2 cup of sugar into the mixing bowl.
Add in 1 1/2 tbsp of butter
And 1 Tbsp of flour.
Add in your eggs and beat well.
Next zest 1 lemon
Add in lemon juice and water and mix well.
Then throw that bad boy in the oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
This is the deliciousness you'll come out with! Enjoy! This would be delicious with cool whip! Pro Tip: Doubling this recipe will make 3 pies!
