The ingredients you will need are: flour, sugar, crisco, nutmeg, baking soda, allspice, ground ginger, molasses and salt. Every good cookie starts off with shortening Add in your sugar Cream together shortening and sugar When measuring molasses I like to spray the cup with nonstick spray. Add in molasses Add in water Add in Flour ![]() Next is salt Now for baking soda Now nutmeg And the ginger Because I didn't have allspice, I mixed together a little nutmeg, ground cloves and cinnamon. You can always leave it out too. It's only 1/8 tsp. Mix all ingredients together until combined. Shape dough into a disk and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Pick out your favorite cookie cutters! I'm in the Christmas spirit so I went fairly traditional. Generously flour your surface Roll out your dough Once the cookies have cooled, you can decorate with icing or enjoy without! I chose to decorate simply because that's all I know how to do. LOL
